JASANZ accreditation ensures that the certification is recognised internationally. This means your certification will be trusted when submitting for Government Tenders or working with large companies around the world.
Being certified to ISO standards shows your commitment to your customers. It is also the internationally agreed best practice on how to operate your business.
This means that if you are certified to ISO 9001 Quality, you are running a quality business, that meets your customer's requirements.

FAQs
How are audit costs calculated?
Answer
As a JASANZ Accredited Certification body, we use the IAF Mandatory Document 5 to calculate the audit duration based on the number of people in your organisation and the risk level of the business. Certification Oceania must audit in line with this requirement; however, we do offer discounts on our daily rate especially for new businesses, B Corp’s, or new certification partners in the Oceania Region.
Is payment required in advance?
Answer
Every organisation is different, so we offer two payment options - no surprises, no hidden extras (travel is the only additional cost, if required). If you'd prefer to pay by stage, payment is required prior to each audit. You'll pay as each stage approaches throughout your 3-year certification cycle, covering Stage 1, Stage 2, Surveillance 1, Surveillance 2, and Recertification. Alternatively, you can spread the cost evenly across your full certification cycle with a simple monthly direct debit, which covers everything (administration, audit planning, auditing, reporting, certification decisions, and ongoing partnership support). Whichever you choose, you'll get the same experience; human-centred audits, clear improvement insights, and a partner who's with you for the whole journey.
Are there any fees associated with transferring to Certification Oceania?
Answer
Transferring to Certification Oceania is easier than you might think, and there are no fees to make the move. Once you accept your proposal, we take care of everything. We'll get in touch with your previous certification body to notify them of the transfer, ensure there are no outstanding non-conformances, and collect your previous audit reports so nothing gets lost in the process. From there, we'll issue you a brand new certificate with Certification Oceania branding, update your listing on the JASANZ register, and welcome you to the family!
How quickly can I get certified?
Answer
Our auditors are in high demand (understandable, they are great people), and they do tend to book up in advance; however, if you are ever in a rush to get certified just contact us and we may be able to help get an auditor out to you asap.
Where are your auditors located?
Answer
We have auditors all over the world - our Director has personally interviewed all of them to make sure they meet our criteria and are people that you wouldn’t mind having a meal with or being sat next to them on a plane!
Will I have the same auditor each year?
Answer
Short answer - it's completely up to you! We recommend partnering with the same auditor throughout your certification cycle for maximum value. That said, if you want a new set of eyes each year or just don’t vibe with your auditor, we can always rearrange at a moment's notice.
How can I use your certification marks?
Answer
Once you are certified, we will send through a document providing guidance on how you can and can’t use the JASANZ, IAF and our certification marks.
How do I prepare for an audit?
Answer
Take a deep breath. Ok now that's done, send us through an enquiry and we can send you through our pre-audit preparation document which includes some simple checklists, guidance information and motivational posters (you got this!).
What if I don’t pass the audit?
Answer
Don't stress, we're with you through the whole process. During Stage 1, we'll flag any significant concerns with your management system and let you know what needs to be addressed before moving to Stage 2. If we identify major nonconformities or gaps during Stage 2, we'll issue you with a nonconformity log. From there, all you need to do is close them out and provide evidence to your auditor, once that's done, you're on your way to certification.
What are the benefits of certification?

The benefits of certification are genuinely hard to summarise - there are so many. But if you ask our Managing Director José, his favourite is the confidence it creates. Confidence for you, your team, and your clients that you do what you say you do, and that what you're doing is in line with internationally agreed best practice. Take ISO 14001 as an example. If your organisation is committed to managing its environmental impact, certification shows the world you're not just saying it, you're living it.

Can Certification Oceania help set up our management system?
Answer
No, as we are a Certification Body, we can not offer consultancy services.
Do we need to have completed our internal audits and management review before commencing the certification process?
Answer
Yes, these are both a mandatory step in the ISO standards and need to be completed prior to Stage 2 of your Certification audit.
