Your roadmap to certification
We've designed our process to be as simple, transparent, and human as possible, so you always know where you are, what's next, and what to expect.
Our process
Submit an enquiry on our contact page here or call/whatsapp us on +61 447 787 394
Our team will answer any questions you have and help you start your certification journey. We'll then send you a simple online application form to better understand your certification needs.
Once we understand your organisation, we are required by JAS-ANZ to use the International Accreditation Mandatory Document 5 to determine audit duration (number of audit days). Once we have that number based on your FTE and business complexity, we will then send through a transparent and competitive quote.
No hidden fees or surprises.
Prior to this stage, our office team will have a chat with you and ask some general questions to understand if you have some of the mandatory documentation in place. If you have absolutely nothing, we will tell you upfront that you may need to work on your management system before we book in Stage 1.
Stage 1 is a Documentation Compliance check where we will review your current documentation against the requirements of the standard and verify if you meet the requirements.
If there are any issues, we will raise them as area of concern for you to address prior to Stage 2.
Area of Concern - An area of concern is an issue that the auditor identifies as potentially problematic during the Stage 2 audit. It suggests that there may be gaps or weaknesses in the management system that could lead to nonconformities if not addressed before the Stage 2 audit.

Following the Stage 2 audit, if you have not received any major nonconformities then your auditor will complete their audit report and send it for Certification Decision.
If Major Nonconformities are raised, then you will be provided a timeframe in which you can provide corrective action plans and evidence to close out the Major Nonconformities, prior to the audit report and recommendation being sent for Certification Decision.
Next, the Certification Oceania Certification Decision maker will provide an outcome and send through your Certification outcome.
You will then be certified for the next three (3) years, and our team will send out a Hardcopy and PDF Certificate(s), your Audit Programme and Certification Oceania Certified*, JAS-ANZ* and IAF Logos* for you to proudly display on your website, products and social media.
*The use of the Certification Oceania, JAS-ANZ and IAF Logos are provided with a document to provide guidance for the correct use of these logos in line with your Certification Agreement*
Surveillance Audits
For the next two (2) years, our team will come out to undertake your Surveillance Audits, where we audit sections of the standard in line with your audit programme.
Recertification Audit
Following two (2) Surveillance Audits, you will then have a Recertification Audit, where we will review all the requirements of the standards and re-issue your certificate to reflect a new certification cycle of three (3) years.
Our certification process
01 - Let's have a chat!
Every great partnership starts with a conversation. You can either submit an online enquiry and we'll give you a call within 24 hours to say g'day, walk through our process, understand what you need, and put together a fee proposal. Or if you'd prefer to talk it out first, you can book a discovery call directly with José, our Managing Director, whether you want to explore your options, get a straight answer on pricing, or just make sense of what certification actually involves.
02 - We'll send you a fee proposal
Once we understand your organisation, we'll put together your fee proposal. As a JASANZ accredited certification body, we're required to use the International Accreditation Mandatory Document 5 to determine your audit duration, based on the number of employees and the complexity of your business.
From there, you choose the payment option that suits you best - pay by stage, or spread the cost across your full 3-year cycle with a simple monthly direct debit.
03 - Stage 1 (Dress Rehearsal) - Documentation Review
Before we book your Stage 1, our team will have a quick chat to understand where you're at with your documentation. Stage 1 is your dress rehearsal, conducted remotely via Teams or Zoom. It's where we get to know your organisation, learn your story, and review your documentation against the requirements of your chosen standard.
Think of it as a gap analysis; we'll identify what's looking good, uncover early opportunities for improvement, and flag any areas of concern - gaps or weaknesses worth addressing before Stage 2, so you're show-ready when it counts!
04 - Stage 2 (Premiere) - Certification Audit
Stage 2 is where your system steps onto the main stage. Our auditor/s will visit your site, walk through your operations, meet your team, and review your documents and records against the requirements of your chosen standard. It's where we see how your management system performs in real life, not just on paper.
If we identify any gaps along the way, we'll raise them using our findings framework, designed to focus on practical improvement, not just compliance:
Looks Good (LG) - This area is operating effectively. Keep doing what you're doing.
Improvement Idea (II) - A suggestion from your auditor worth considering. No action required.
Improvement Watch (IW) - Not a gap today, but worth keeping an eye on before it becomes one.
Minor - Improvement Plan Required (m-IPR) - A gap that needs to be addressed, but won't hold up certification. You'll need to provide a documented improvement plan before we proceed.
Major - Improvement Action Required (M-IAR) - A significant gap that must be resolved before certification can be issued. We'll work with you to get there.
If everything meets the requirements, you'll be recommended for certification - a champagne moment worth celebrating!
05 - You are now certified!
Following the Stage 2 audit, if you have not received any major nonconformities, then your auditor will complete their audit report and send it for Certification Decision.
You will then be certified for the next three (3) years, and our team will send you your audit report, Certification Oceania certificate(s) and marks for you to proudly display on your website, products and social media!
06 - What's next
Surveillance Audits - Annual Check-ins
For the next two (2) years, our team will come out to undertake your Surveillance Audits, where we audit sections of the standard in line with your audit programme.
Surveillance 1: The First Encore
A year after certification, we return for your First Encore. This is your chance to show how your system has matured, how risks are being managed, and how performance is improving. We look at what's working well and where small tweaks could make a big difference, keeping your system strong, your team confident, and your certification meaningful.
Surveillance 2: The Second Encore
Your Second Encore is about consistency and ongoing value. We assess long-term performance, review trends, follow up on previous improvements, and help you keep your system lean, effective, and genuinely useful. Because great certification isn't just about the moment you achieve it, it's about what you do with it over time.
Recertification (Renewal) Audit - three-year review & reset
Following two (2) Surveillance Audits, you will have a Recertification Audit, during which we will review all the requirements of the standards and reissue your certificate to reflect a new three (3)- year certification cycle.
